Our team member, Mr. Ugurcan Acar, took part in the Bludots Evet held in Málaga on May 22–23, 2025, under the theme: “Digital and Social Blue Economy: Sustainable Transition and Innovation Opportunities.” This two-day event gathered actors from across Europe to explore how digitalization and social innovation can shape a more inclusive and sustainable blue economy. This opportunity was created by our new company – MIWEBIT where digital solutions are offered.
Highlights of the Experience:
Learning & Sector Insight
Mr. Acar attended presentations and roundtables focused on:
- Digital transformation in fisheries, marine biotechnology, and tourism
- Sustainable coastal practices and marine environment protection
- Integration of blockchain for seafood traceability
These sessions deepened our organizational insight into future developments, especially in areas directly linked to new projects in Erasmus + and Horizon Europe particularly in environmental and digital agendas.
Collaborative Networking
A structured “speed dating” session brought together tech and social economy actors, encouraging co-creation and idea exchange. This format allowed us to explore potential future partnerships with cooperatives, research centers, and sustainability innovators.
Field Experience
Participants visited the La Noria aquaponics center, witnessing first-hand how marine-based agriculture (combining aquaculture and hydroponics) is being piloted locally. The event concluded with a boat trip to Fuengirola, offering insights into sustainable fishing and coastal tourism practices.
Strategic Value for Our Organization
This event reinforced our commitment to:
- Advancing sustainability through innovation
- Building international partnerships in the Blue Economy
- Strengthening our staff’s EU project readiness and thematic expertise
It aligns directly with our development strategy and adds valuable experience to our staff portfolio laying a strong foundation for future participation in EU-funded projects**.
