We are proud to announce that the PraC-MARENG Plus (PRActical and Communication-based MARitime ENGlish Plus) project has officially commenced on 1 November 2025 and will run for a duration of 24 months.
The project is implemented under the Erasmus+ Programme – Higher Education Cooperation (KA220-HED) Action, led by Constanta Maritime University and coordinated by MARITIME INNOVATORS.
Project Partnership
The consortium consists of the following organisations:
- Constanta Maritime University (Romania) – Contractor
- MARITIME INNOVATORS (Türkiye) – Project Coordinator
- Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena (Spain)
- University of Rijeka (Croatia)
- Munster Technological University (Ireland)
- Vilnius Technical University – Lithuanian Maritime Academy (Lithuania)
This diverse partnership represents a broad range of expertise in maritime education, training, research, and digital innovation, ensuring that the project outcomes will be academically sound, industry-relevant, and practically applicable.
Project Vision
PraC-MARENG Plus aims to develop an updated, digital, and job-oriented Maritime English training programme specifically designed for port and shore personnel. While Standard Maritime Communication Phrases (SMCP) are widely used at sea, structured communication training for shore-based maritime professionals remains limited. This project addresses that gap.
The programme will be aligned with current and emerging maritime regulations, operational practices, and digital transformation trends in the maritime sector. Through innovative learning content, interactive scenarios, and assessment tools, the project seeks to improve safety, efficiency, and communication quality in port operations.
MARITIME INNOVATORS’ Role
As project coordinator and initiator, MARITIME INNOVATORS is proud to initiate this international collaboration. The project reflects our mission to support the maritime sector through innovation, digital learning solutions, and future-ready training programmes. PraC-MARENG Plus builds directly on our experience in EU-funded projects and our ongoing work in maritime education and digitalisation.
We would like to sincerely thank all partner institutions for their commitment, expertise, and willingness to collaborate. Together, we are confident that PraC-MARENG Plus will deliver sustainable and impactful results for maritime education and the wider maritime industry.
