The SEA4SHORE consortium gathered in Rijeka, Croatia, for the Fourth Partner Meeting, hosted by the University of Rijeka. The meeting brought together project partners from across Europe to review the progress made so far and to align on the upcoming milestones leading to the project’s completion.
Over the past months, the partnership has made significant progress across several key areas. The SEA4SHORE platform continues to evolve with regularly updated content, showcasing project activities, outputs, and insights from the maritime sector. The platform aims to raise awareness and support seafarers in identifying potential onshore career opportunities.
The partners also finalized the technical specifications that form the foundation of the project’s digital tool, a core innovation designed to guide seafarers in their professional transition from sea to shore. The tool development phase is advancing under the leadership of MARITIME INNOVATORS as IT partner integrating feedback from partners to ensure accuracy, functionality, and user relevance.
The user interface of the tool is being designed to provide simple, intuitive access for all users, making career guidance and self-assessment easy and engaging. Meanwhile, the piloting phase has been initiated across several partner countries, where students, maritime professionals, and training institutions are testing the tool’s usability and functionality.
At the same time, discussions continue around accreditation processes with national and regional authorities, ensuring that the SEA4SHORE tool meets European quality standards and can be recognized across the maritime and vocational training sectors.
Looking ahead, the partnership is preparing for its promotion and dissemination phase. A comprehensive Promotion Plan has been finalized, and a series of national SEA4SHORE conferences will take place between September and November 2025 to present the project’s results, share success stories, and engage with maritime education stakeholders. The project will conclude with the Final Project Meeting in February 2026, where partners will officially present the outcomes and discuss sustainability and follow-up actions.
The SEA4SHORE project continues to demonstrate strong collaboration and commitment among its partners, focusing on creating tangible tools and resources that will help seafarers navigate new career opportunities onshore.
